Phoenix bases its philosophy on service to suppliers. Detailed waste surveys are done on request in suppliers" plants and market recommendations are made. The first objective is "taking materials from the nonsaleable category to a saleable category by proper handling," says Mr. de Koning. The second objective is "increasing the value of saleable seconds." Material usually is bought on a continuing basis: producers ship to Phoenix at their convenience, providing savings in space and money. Phoenix also buys spot lots when available.

Phoenix ’s fabrics are being sold in a wide market range, from consumer markets (household wipes) to professional cleaning markets (multi-purpose wipes), from medical (bandages and swabs) to industrial cleaning cloths, from hygienic products to specialty products (banners, flags, sunscreens, etc).
